Bruce Lazarus

Composer Bruce Lazarus characterizes his music as “concise, architectural, contemporary, and in turn meditative, humorous, moody, and exuberant.’ He studied composition at Juilliard where he earned his B.M. and M.M. in music composition, and his music include pieces for piano, chorus, voice, chamber ensembles, and theater. His major solo piano work, Musical Explorations of the Messier Catalogue of Star Clusters and Nebulae is widely available for CD/download on Composers Concordance Recordings (Comcon0014) with global distribution by Naxos, and his series of arrangements of classical standards, Green Golly and Her Golden Flute, is published by T. Presser. Recently completed works include Carrolling, a theater piece based on the poems of Lewis Carroll, and November Sonata for flute and piano.
