Equal-part music auteur and genre-defying chanteuse, BROUS possesses a bold vision for pop music. The vocalist and composer weaves a unique palette of widescreen influences, from theatrical poporchestra, exotica, jazz, film soundtracks and avante garde exploratin, Brous weaves a sound entirely her own. She is a torch singer of some future time, painting sonic pictures of majestic scale all crowned by her stunning voice.
A musician with diverse musical interests, she has collaborated and toured alongside a vast number of artists including Mick Harvey, Julia Holter, Jens Lekman, Belle and Sebastian, Michael Rother, Patrick Wolf, Kimbra, Kirin J Callinan, Emmy the Great, Paul Kelly, Leo Abrahams, and Paul Grabowsky, and performs at major Festivals and venues internationally. Recent projects include the Barbican Centre's world premiere production of 'In Dreams: David Lynch Revisited' with Jehnny Beth of Savages, Conor O'Brien of Villagers, Dave Okumu, Cibo Matto and Owen Pallett; Frank Zappa's 1971 opera '200 Motels' with the BBC Concert Orchestra for the Southbank Centre/Rest is Noise Festival, Marina Abramovic's opening of 'Private Archeologies' at Museum of Old and New Art, 'Last Summer' 40 voice choral work featuring Julia Holter for MONA/Dark Mofo, and 'Lullaby Movement', a theatricalsed song cycle commissioned by Urbantheatre Projects for the Sydney Festival 2015, currently in-development at Robert Wilson's Watermill Centre in New York for 2016 international debut.
