Sing Song Sung by Brian Coleman published on 2013/09/02 02:22:19 +0000 i hardly ever try singing vocals on my own tracks, but yeah. this beat is boxed, too. i think it's worth mentioning that i sung this before i knew what key i was in. it turned out to be in b major which is unusual when i'm consciously thinking about keys for my music. i also believe in keys as a function of emotion, here are some interesting depictions of what b major supposedly means: "B major: Strongly coloured, announcing wild passions, composed from the most glaring coulors. Anger, rage, jealousy, fury, despair and every burden of the heart lies in its sphere." ~ From Christian Schubart's Ideen zu einer Aesthetik der Tonkunst (1806) translated by Rita Steblin in A History of Key Characteristics in the 18th and Early 19th Centuries. UMI Research Press (1983). "B Major: harsh and plaintive" ~ from Charpentier's Regles de Composition ca. 1682 "B -- Blue" ~ from Scriabin's system of colored musical keys What do you think? Is this a blue song? Is it harsh? Melancholic?
