Born and raised in the true Detroit Underground, 1995-1998.

Qu'est-ce que c'est? Is this from a Colbert interview, with Stephen's voice dropped in pitch and the interviewee's raised?
This guy's productions are like early surgeon with a slightly sharper edge to them, which is saying something (Badger Bite, anyone?) I'm really excited about this mix! Muchas Gracias, RYC!

This IS a serious classic. I have no idea where my copy is now, but I saw Mr. May spin at a club outside Detroit in 1997. Richie was in attendance along, I was told, with Juan Atkins. I didn't see him, though. People were moving tables against the walls and dancing in the decrying normally reserved for sitting and drinking. Memories!
I wish I had the same problem. Words flow out like water, so effortlessly that those around me sometimes feel they're drowning in the world's most verbose alphabet soup. Performing music has never been difficult for me, either. Songwriting and production, on the other hand, can sometimes feel like trying to eat a bone-in ribeye h two sporks.
It's so refreshing to hear one legend in the scene open up and be completely honest about their admiration for another legend like Ben did in the 'Info' section of this set. It helps to remind us that we're all just folks and blokes that share a deep love and cherish the moments of Zen, transcendence, temporary loss of ego, and sense of the purest kind of community that we can only find immersed in the groove of Techno made with unquestionable integrity like the artist and producer represented here.
Here it comes! Whether it's Long or Bissmire, together or doing solo gigs, the Space DJz have yet to make a set that was just average. These guys bring the Thunder every...single...time!
André Walter has a way of doing that to you. The man's titles and brutal, but he gets the job done better than anyone else this side of Red Seal, Planet Rhythm, Heroes, or Punish.
Is this the same DJ DB that was the head of Sm:)e Records? Also did Acid Resistant mixes 1 & 2 and some jungle mixed, one of which is on garetheisonit's collection just a few tracks up from this one.
This is dope like the space cakes at Homegrown Fantasy, of ever honored memory. I went in and told the guy it was my first time doing this, which he thought meant smoke. It wasn't, of course, but the half-horrified/half-intrigued look on his face told me he was trying to envision what a rookie would look like on one of their space cakes. It brought a rapid explanation from me that I meant purchase legal marijuana. once I did that, he laughed at first nervously, then more heartily as understanding crept into his fore brain through what had to have been a 1990s Los Angeles smoggy day's worth of delta-9 tetrahydrocannibanol laced haze. I miss the Dam. 😂
