You wouldn’t expect that behind Bobby Rock there are actually two musical maniacs. But guess what?!
Bobby Rock is the alter ego of Bobby de Graaf and Melvin Kuiters, both share the same amount of passion when it is about music. Bobby is the man behind the wheels of steel and Melvin is the main man in the studio. Both are the idea makers when it becomes on the musical path, which they are creating.
They met in the beginning of 2011 and noticed that they had the mutual idea of where music is heading and how to approach nowadays market when it comes to making and presenting their songs. After spending days and nights in the studio they developed their characteristic sound, which was born out of their personality! (They are both known to be a bit of a rebel: Moving against the stream, but also standing on their turf!)
So don’t be fooled: Bobby Rock isn’t just one off the guys, they are double the trouble!!
The sound you can expect from Bobby Rock cant be placed in ONE genre! As always they want to add a bit of flavor to nowadays music and will surprise you with a variation of sets and productions.
They kick off this year with a new sound, which they like to call Future Electro. Their singles MeSoHorny (Big&Dirty) and Get Up On This (Flamingo) proved that they were on spot again as it got picked up straight away by big guns like David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Blasterjaxx.
But also the familiar harder stuff will be presented this year, Bobby Rock will debut on Blasterjaxx imprint Maxximize Records. Make Noise is a trap combined with a harder EDM drop, which got noticed by the WMC BUZZ Charts (#2) and many more during Ultra Miami.
When Bobby Rock debuted with his EP ‘Blitz & Arise’ (Big&Dirty) in 2013, they started spreading their trade trademark in nowadays EDM. They got noticed and supported by big names like Nicky Romero, Hardwell, Axwell, Martin Garrix and Don Diablo, just to name a few. All this support and positive feedback created the opportunity to start working with topnotch singers and songwriters. Their release with Cimo Frankel in 2014, on Nicky Romero’s imprint Protocol, made them enter their way into the dance floors globally with ‘New Life’ making it into the Top 10 of Beatport Charts. After this success, Protocol wanted more, and another three tracks were released.
In 2015 Bobby Rock debuted on Hardwell’s record label Revealed Recordings with the remix Forever Young by Sam O Neil, (now known as ½ off Moksi). That same year, they made their first step on creating their new sound with the lead singer of The Boxer Rebellion, Nathan Nicholson – Baby (Big& Dirty)
Not only as a producers duo they rock the scene, but also on stage Bobby Rock rocks the decks!
His sets are exciting, filled with surprising bootlegs and his personal fresh sound, which never seem to fail! Bobby Rock has raised the bar yet again. Their new sound has a cheeky, raw sound with amazing grooves and beats, which will make both men and women dance till dawn. Bobby Rock always finds the fine balance between different genres and uplifting vocals, pleasing both sexes. Club, festival and mainstream audience will be witnessing their unstoppable way of rocking the speakers! Doors are opening and the future is arising for the talents of Bobby Rock.
