Bloody Buccaneers Golden Earring tribute band "Bloody Buccaneers" is named after an album title with the international hit "Going To The Run" which was released by their heroes in 1991. The tribute band was founded in 2001 and played way over 100 times in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, where the band is very popular and has become a welcome guest at tribute festivals. One of the biggest Buccaneers fans is Pinkpop chief Jan Smeets who even promoted the Buccaneers on 3FM Radio and invited them to play on his jubilee party. In 2010 Bloody Buccaneers hit the national press with the release of a genuine tribute song, a homage to Golden Earring as well as their huge fanbase. The song had it's radio-premiere in the hometown of Golden Earring on Radio Den Haag FM in October 2010. Many fans responded very enthousiastic to the fact that they finally had their allied anthem to honour their heroes. It goes without saying that Bloody Buccaneers plays all the big Earring-hits like "Twilight Zone", "When The Lady Smiles " and of course the millionseller "Radar Love ". But also live classics like "Holy Holy Life", "Back Home", "Buddy Joe", "Long Blond Animal", "Just Like Vince Taylor" and "Candy's Going Bad" are on the playlist. To surprise the die-hard Earring fans, the band also selects some less obvious album tracks like "Mad Love Is Coming", "The Vanilla Queen" and "Eight Miles High".
