4. THE GIRL WITH "YOU KNOW WHAT?" IN HER EYES by Björn Jakobsson published on 2014-01-01T19:23:41Z I met her one summer, a bit sulky and introvert. I wouldn't even call it a short and innocent flirt. So quiet and pensive - spinning gear wheels in her mind, but she was friendly and innocent and altogether kind. When people in cartoons find out something bright, a light bulb starts shining and illuminates the night. Something slightly similar was the impression I got, when she suddenly stared at me with eyes that sais "you know what?" It was a surprise, and it felt incredibly nice. I'll never forget the girl with "you know what" in her eyes. She had this childlike keenness. She wanted me to know. I don't recall what she told me, but I remember her glow. I wouldn't call it passion, just a delightful verve. I won't say what I wanted to do, but luckily I hadn't the nerve. She was fire on ice, and although time flies, I'll never forget the girl with "you know what" in her eyes. But just like all good things in life, it had to come to an end. I fumbled and I frittered and I lost her, even as a friend. She found out who I really was and left without a good bye. I wouldn't say I'm sorry, but some lonely night I'll cry. She would soon just despise, all the horrible meaningless lies. I'll never forget the girl with "you know what" in her eyes. © 2010 Treplektra produktion Genre Björn Jakobsson
