Because you know better than all the other "christians". Why are you right and theyre wrong? No it's not because you've read the bible more and understand it better because everyone has read dont eat shellfish or wear polyester cloth. So why do you disregard that little bit and not the part about selling stuff in church? Because jesus said it and Leviticus doesnt count? "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. "Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. "You have heard that the ancients were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.' (Mathew 5:17-21) So jesus meant "you shouldnt commit murder sure, but screw the rest it doesnt count"? Why shouldnt it count? God is infallible and omnipotent, he knows what is and what will be. If he knew he was gonna throw away all his old laws one day why make them in the first place, what's the point? And how am I to tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong? Why should I should choose to follow the law that says a woman cant remarry untill her ex husband dies and choose not to follow the one about not trimming my beard? Why did god leave it open for interpretation when the fate of my eternal afterlife depends on getting it right? Why allow the false churches to lure unsuspecting people into their church and taint them with false teachings like "its ok to buy coffee here"? If hes loving shouldnt he care that these people, who are doing everything in their power to be right with god, are being lead astray and try to stop this from happening? Why is your interpretation correct and not all the coffee selling churches? How do know what god meant not jerry sims of ash creek baptist church? Why didnt god mention it was wrong in Deuteronomy or Leviticus with all the other laws regarding sacrifices? Wheres the justification and how were they supposed to know? Why did he get angry if god didnt mention it until now? seems pretty arbitrary to say "you can sell them across the street but not in the place where you sacrifice them". Also, its pretty telling that this is what god chooses to get angry about and not something like slavery. How dare you sell stuff in church but "The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows." I guess thats his justification, the jews, slaves to gods will, didnt know it was wrong to sell animals in tenples, so jesus only got a little mad instead of burning the temple down.
