Ben Mowat, Music for Film, TV & Media Ben Mowat Ben Mowat finished his MA in Composition for Film & TV at Bristol University in October 2018, studying under renowned film composer & orchestrators Richard Blackford, William Goodchild, Martin Kiszko and Kelcey Swain. Ben has been playing, composing and producing music for most of his life. His passion for the subject is infectious and he enjoys working with others. Above all he love making and sharing music. Ben is a confident ensemble leader and an eclectic and skilled composer with experience as a conductor and musical director as well as orchestral playing, choral singing and playing in bands (reggae, folk, rock, fusion etc). He is also a keen improvisor and a trained orchestrator and score creator as well as live sound engineer and studio producer with advanced skills and knowledge of music technology. The MA program at Bristol has comprehensively built upon his skill set and given Ben yet more composing experience in the film and media field. Ben enjoys working with a diversity of musicians and genres as well as artists from other disciplines.
