BEAD Dave Dwyer Dublin David James John Dwyer has used the moniker Bead ™ since first playing Whelans of Wexford Street as a solo songwriter in 1994. Like Badly Drawn Boy or Sun Kil Moon, ‘Bead’ was a better fit for my musical collaborations. In 2003, I collaborated with local music producer Dave McCune to record and release my first full length (10 track) album called ‘High Time’. In 2010, after seeing a poster in Tower Records, I got the idea to work with Morrissey‘s guitarist and songwriter 'Boz Boorer'. We met and recorded my (8 song) album ‘Battle Stations’ in Portugal. In 2017, I teamed up with Boz again to produce my (5 song) EP ‘Country Mountain’ featuring electric and acoustic guitars, fiddle, bass, guest vocalist Clare Murphy (Just Like The Beatles) and drummer David Ruffy (The Waterboys, Sinead O' Connor, Kirsty MacColl, The RUTS). The EP was mastered for iTunes by Grammy award winning engineer Tim Young in Metropolis Studios, London. Described as a vegetarian anthem, in November 2020, the single ‘Earth Monkey’ was released on band camp and iTunes. BEAD’s tracks Cool Life feat.
