Tommy Lexxus
Berlin
Bassism Records was founded by Tommy Lexxus. Tommy is now one half of Arøund The Way music, with their debut coming out this month. Originating in California, Bassism began as a warehouse rave in 2005. Three years later, Bassism started putting out early classics from the beginning of the Dubstep era. San Francisco being a hub for Bass Music in general, Bassism had prime real estate to pick from the best upcoming artists in the Bay Area. They went on to anchor in serious acts such as UFO!, FSTZ, Roommate, Antiserum, SPL, The Bassist, Broke-N, and many more.
From the beaches of the West Coast to the subways of New York, Tommy got to open for Skream and Joe Nice at the legendary Avalon Club (the old Limelight), before Skream was old enough to drink legally. Other highlights include playing atop Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas at the Foundation Room for Dub Church, Narnia in the Los Angeles Mountains, Outlook Festival in Croatia, Serendubity in Berlin, and massive raves such as Nocturnal Wonderland, House of Dreams, and Opium in Palm Springs.
When Dubstep took off, so did Bassism's release success, and Tommy's touring calendar. Having rocked almost every European capital, and tons of party-ready cities in between, Mr. Lexxus has also been blessed with appearances in Dubai, Bahrain, Shanghai, Melbourne, and most recently in Koh Tao, Thailand. Bassism then adopted @ForecastRecordings as it’s daughter label, expanding it’s repertoire by introducing sounds and textures centered more in Dub Techno and Sub House. More artists joined the push, from KGB & PhoneCall from Estonia, Vandera from Holland, Twisted & Templer from Germany, Droid Sector & Draft Portal from Australia, Cosmetics from Costa Rica, Achtung Kinder from Switzerland, BOC from Hungary, and Beep from Finland.
Bassism has brought out some of the Bay Area’s finest to Berlin, such Bachelors of Science, BOGL, and Dubsworth. Trying to make the world feel a little closer, Bassism has booked a plethora of international headliners including N-Type, Egoless, Truth, Khiva, Sepia, Unicorn Fukr, Vilify, Stylust Beats, Sukh Knight, Bukez Finezt, and Squarewave. With the latest Anthology released, Tommy is more focused on studio work, getting remixes finished and published. With his new production partner K2, you can expect some big tingz soon. Catch Tommy Lexxus host Bassism Radio on Sub FM Wednesday evenings.
