Axel Hjertman (PAAHTIMO Helsinki, SE)
Biography:
Helsinki-based Producer/DJ and club concept developer Axel started playing at underground clubs in Malmö and Lund Sweden in 2009. Active since then travelling around Europe living 3 years in Berlin, through Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, Tallin and to Helsinki where he is living since the last year.
His CD/Vinyl-sets are technically advanced and organically dynamic, sometimes incorporating drum-machines and doing semi-live excursions. Axel’s sets are very intense performance, immersing himself in the music and mixing, transferring the music to the crowd and making people dance on the verge of their imaginary horizon.
His mixes are always curiously combining beats with ambience, a blend of break beat-rhythms further into dreamy but hard 4/4 beats, hard and forward into ambient and steady. It is a journey through an ever-changing landscape of sound. Nonetheless, most importantly he loves what he does and can not stop smiling while doing it.
