In Any Millennium by Astral Truth Window

I recorded this in 1979 at the home of our friends Kim Devenish and Julie Constable, in Yanakie, just north of Wilson's Promontory.

A Korg 700 drives the spring reverb of an RE-201 Space Echo, which drives a home-made L-R output breath-pressure volume control made with recently released GE H11F1 FET opto-isolators (I still don't know how they work). My Z80 computer produced the 8 bit DAC digital drum sounds. Two 15 IPS Teac A-3340S reel-to-reel tape recorders with their heads 2.4 metres apart made a recirculating tape echo. This discrete L-R signal was good for speakers in a reverberant room, but was weird on headphones. In 2018 I used Ardour to make a network of delays, EQ and a little reverb, with which I made this version which is fine on headphones and speakers.
