Jeremy "Jez" Davis
Jez handles the lead guitar and vocals supported live by Gary Coggan on drums and Mark Dillon on bass guitar.
Jez's original band, Cirrus, formed early in ’81 with Shaun Mace on bass guitar, John Ensor on percussion and Jez Davis on lead guitar and vocals. Shaun soon left after he and the other band members discovered that he had ginger hair and a moustache.
Shaun was replaced (but not before the band had stolen Shaun’s bass guitar) by Finnish bass player Harri Kärnä who came from Finland, and hence was referred to as “Finnish bass player Harri Kärnä who came from Finland”, due to the fact that he played bass (hence “bass player”) and that he came from Finland (hence “Finnish” because that’s what people from Finland are collectively called, not “finish” as in “finish of a race”, or “finish doing something”) and “…who came from Finland” because he did come from Finland. In addition to bringing his bass playing skills to the band, Harri also brought an extensive collection of beer mats. Harri also used to try to ride cows.
The trio soon began recording and gigging. Some critics claim that their performances where spoiled by three things.
Firstly, drummer, John Ensor, was too tight to buy a drum kit and used to play a selection of margarine tubs, cardboard boxes and a biscuit tin placed on a table, complaining that he’d spent enough money on the sticks (which he had in fact borrowed).
Secondly, Harri Kärnä could not remember how the songs went and so would have to be shown how to play the next song, by Jez, in between numbers. This, some critics say, spoiled the flow of the concerts but did provide an excellent showcase for John Ensor’s jokes which he would tell to the audience between songs along with reciting some of his tone poems.
Thirdly - the singing. A comment made by band associate Mark Cordon must rank alongside the one made about The Beatles that “bands with guitars are on the way out”, by the Decca record company. The comment, directed at Jez Davis, was “you might make it as a guitarist, but you’ll never make it as a singer”. Cordon couldn’t have been more wrong because as of this date Davis has made it neither as a guitarist nor as a singer.
Within four months Kärnä left the band after and argument over a groupie. Jez said she was wearing Harmony hairspray whilst Harri insisted she wasn’t. The two where irreconcilable and Jez and Harri refused to work with each other again.

Spinal Tap, The Rutles, Bad News, Crème Brûlée - well who didn't they influence?
I did have alist of artists and bands here but they or their estates all asked to be removed with threats of false advertising and slander litigation.
