His family recounts stories of his playful and humorous character upon walking into a room and his ability to turn all eyes on him as he engaged his audience with his antics; but his first real love and passion for music surfaced when he was 6 years old. His father owned one of the first state of the art studios in Tehran, which housed many famous vocalists, and musicians of that era. ARASH! could always be found “hanging out” in the studio and became a keen observer of the process as the sound engineers and musicians were hard at work! He quickly grasped the fundamentals of the production and mixing process, and knew that he would one day find himself “in the mix”, just like his idols. The dream was short lived due to a revolution that would force the family to flee the country. Later ARASH! was introduced to classical music in Austria where he lived with his aunts while attending a catholic boarding school. ARASH! soon found his true passion in electronic music, listening to bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Yazz, Petshop Boys, and Falco. In 1988 he moved to the U.S. and got his first gig working at a local Orange County radio station where he started mixing music on the air. Since then ARASH! has been perfecting his skills behind the turntables out of Southern California, playing in a number of venues worldwide.
