Protein Der Klang by Apps4iDevices published on 2013/03/08 00:07:26 +0000 http://apps4idevices.com/read/Protein Der Klang v1.0 Protein Der Klang is a sampling app based on the original ProteinDS software. You can play, record and manipulate samples easily in real-time, making it a perfect live performance machine. It allows for grouping of samples, with up to 3 groups, and then each group can be effected using one of the 5 options: Crusher, Repeater, Delay, Phaser or LP Filter. Each group can also be assigned to the Scratch or Slicer functions, which allow the manipulation of all the playing samples in each group. You can have 4 samples playing at one time per group. Each sample can utilise 4 different trigger modes: One-Shot (or Once), Hold, Toggle or Replay. You can also customise the layout of the trigger pads in amount of pads and also the amount in each group. There are a lot of options built into this app to allow different triggering options, including BPM syncing and immediate triggering, as well as offset triggering and beat division control. In this first version of Protein Der Klang you need to use iTunes file sharing to import more samples, but Audio Copy/Paste and AudioBus are coming very soon, as it does come with a lot of good samples to get started with. You can also record performances or external sounds, then load them directly onto a pad for immediate use. I really like the way this app is performance based, as it allows for fast manipulation in real-time, and it has a great feature that lets you swipe across a row of pads to trigger them all, and turn off samples that are currently playing in one movement. The video below mainly shows how to navigate through the app and use some of the many features, but it was hard not to include some performance elements. This app can seem a bit complex at first because it does have a lot of options, but it does become simple once you understand it's workflow, and then it gets really addictive. I like how every aspect of Protein Der Klang utilises the whole screen and how everything is easily accessible, so I definitely rate it ... A Killer App!
