DJ Anthony Mac has been DJing for over 17 years. Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey at the onset of the New Jersey/New York Underground House Music Explosion. Influences at that time were, and still are, DJ Tony Humphries, David Morales, Roger Sanchez, DJ Disciple, DJ Repete and Louie Vega. International DJ appearances in Germany and the UK have given him international exposure that has helped his musical prowess evolve.
Considering the lack of clubs in central New Jersey, Anthony Mac started his own events. He started BOUNCE at Trenton fame CITY GARDENS. BOUNCE was New Jersey's largest regular underground dance music movement since the legendary Zanzabar. 1200+ guests would come from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and as far as NYC and Baltimore to come and hear his ground breaking and totally refreshing DJ sets.
After four successful years at City Gardens, Anthony moved to NYC to pursue a career in the music industry.
He secured a promotion position at Dig It International. It was at this time that he discovered Ed Green a.k.a. GUSTO, and signed the infamous smash hit, "DISCO'S REVENGE".
While directing promotions at Dig It International, Anthony Mac covered the NYC East Village Circuit spinning a the very trendy CIRCA, VANITY and BOWLMOR to name a few.
He then moved to King Street Sounds, the leading dance label in NYC. There he served as Director of Promotion for three years and completed several remixes while at the label. One of his most notable accomplishments is the slamming remix of Kenny Bobien's "Walk Into The Light"
At this time Anthony Mac was approached by Tom Dunkley and Alahondro Torio to become the lead resident DJ and music director/programmer for a start up weekly house event called GBH (Great British House). The promoters couldn't have made a better decision. Anthony Mac immediately started creating a musical phenomenon in the underground room of a leading night club. His knowledge of what New York nightlife "used" to represent and his overall skill as a DJ was instantly recognized by the promoters and the house music enthusiasts that came to support each week. It wasn't long before GBH moved to the Main Floor of the famed SOUND FACTORY BAR which now called itself CHEETAH.
GBH occupied the Cheetah venue for two years and developed an unbelievable following that was chronicled by Time Out New York, DJ Mag (UK) and The New York Times. GBH packed the house to capacity every week with 1000+ people on the dance floor. "While New Yorker's, House Music enthusiasts, bridge and tunnelers and international travelers flock to GBH, Anthony Mac fills the room with an energetic, "Hands in the Air" Party Vibe. With his assortment of Underground House Sounds from France, The UK, Germany, Holland and the best of American selections, he has permanently branded his name in the New York underground scene." Time Out
GBH kept growing and was moved to NYC's newest and hottest night club at the time, CENTROFLY. The lines to get into GBH wrap around the block. When 2000+ patrons entered to hear Anthony Mac and other international guest DJ's, they were\ never disappointed. The deep and soulful style of house music that Anthony started with is still present in his current pumping, techy style that he plays currently.
Upon tearing up the dance floor at CLUB RA in Las Vegas more than once and completing a United States tour that included cities such as San Francisco, San Diego, Houston, Grand Rapids, NYC and Philadelphia, he is poised to stand on his own as a world class DJ that can offer a set that will leave a listeners energized.
Anthony Mac has been in the house music scene for many years. His musical taste is extremely diverse and his ability to read and interact with the crowd is unparralled. He plays everything from House to Progressive, Tech House and US Garage. He has shared lineups the world over with artists Pete Tong, Hernan Cattaneo, Roger Sanchez, Crystal Method, Bob Sinclair, CJ Macintosh, Kerri Chandler, DJ Disiple and Josh Wink to name a few.
