The Priestess by Anoba published on 2012-12-26T20:40:25Z Something different from my standard dance music fare. I was smoking a hookah reflecting on life when I started to think about the story of Amytis (I have a tendency to think of about Mesopotamian history while smoking.) For those who don't know, Amytis was a princess of Media who was married to Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon over 2500 years ago. Living in the flat, sparse land of her husband's lowland kingdom, she became homesick. Nebuchadnezzar purportedly built the Hanging Gardens, filled with plants of her native land, so that she can feel as if still in her mountain home. The story says a lot about human desires, and how powerful our longings can be, both for these we can, can't, might not be able to have. Enjoy.
