Few veterans within electronic music boast the respect and numerous accolades, as DJ and producer Andy Galea. Considered by many to be a master of the craft across various forms of house music, his position as head of A&R for Strictly Rhythm / Ikonik is indicative of his ear for a killer tune.
With the experience of producing, remixing and performing all over the world, Galea has established his place as a true legend on the scene. His long list of monikers and aliases is a testament to his widespread appeal, delivering killer tunes across a wide spectrum, having remixed for the likes of artists such as Rihanna, Britney Spears and Technotronic to name a few, his production skills are highly sought after.
Best known for his ’95 chart-topping smash hit “Turn Me Out” under his Sol Brothers guise - a track so epic that it commanded a re-release becoming THE summer anthem for Strictly Rhythm in 2011. Now in 2013 Galea ruturned with new remixes from Cazzette and support from heavyweights Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Along with the Russ chimes mix that has blown up all over with support from Annie mac and many more.
His latest releases as part of the mighty Nightstylers, alongside Marc JB (Bimbo Jones) and Patrick Ruane (Detriot Starrzz), have been signed by Roger Sanchez’s Stealth Records and secured him a lucrative album deal on none other than Armin Van Buuren’s Armada label, with his 5th release set to impact in March with vocals from Dan Brown.
Andy continues to dominate the scene with the Nightstylers, including the dancefloor-destroying remixes of Planet Funk’s classic “Chase the Sun”, the mammoth “No More Lies”, released on Roger Sanchez’s Stealth label, and their epic anthem “The More I See”, featuring Dan Brown hitting big on the Armada label. In addition, his Sol Brothers, Solasso & Nightstylers remixes of Sarah Atereth’s massive “Without You” hit #1 in the National Dance Charts back in March 2012.
His latest collaboration sees Galea “go Dutch” with rising House star Jesse Voorn on a single out on Germany’s biggest dance label Housesession's, the pair’s second collaboration, and was released just in time for ADE 2012. Showing no sign of slowing down, he continues to collaborate with established artists and heavy hitters on the scene, as well as nurturing new talent.
With a slew of killer anthems in the bag and a big room house sound, which has had him flying all over the world djing at some of the biggest clubs and festivals, Galea has landed a residency at Pacha, London. His events under the Glam Parties banner have gone from strength to strength, with the likes of Prok & Fitch, Riley & Durrant, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine, and many more clamoring to play. With tours and nights all over the UK and worldwide, alongside his weekly Radio Manchester Global show, Galea continues to be a driving force on the scene, with his finger firmly on the pulse of what is hip and happening.
