Andrew Tuttle, based in Brisbane, Australia; creates an instrumental sonic convergence of acoustic and electronic tones performed on instrumentation including banjo, acoustic guitar, synthesiser and computer. Holding a space that is abundant and generous, Tuttle makes outsider music that turns its listeners into insiders — beckoning a journey inwards which unfolds many heart-opening moments along the way.
Andrew Tuttle’s recordings and performances encompass blurred boundaries between composition and improvisation; incorporating elements of abstract folk music and shimmering processed electronics.
Tuttle has released three solo albums via the Room40 label family ('Andrew Tuttle', 2018; 'Fantasy League', 2016; 'Slowcation', 2015).
Tuttle has performed at venues and festivals including Cafe OTO (London), Dark MOFO / MONA (Hobart), ZDB (Lisboa), Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane), Melbourne International Jazz Festival (Melbourne), Le Bourg (Lausanne), Botanique (Bruxelles), Melbourne Recital Centre (Melbourne), HeK (Basel), Institute of Modern Art (Brisbane), and Monash University Museum of Art (Melbourne).
He has collaborated with musicians including Matmos, Mike Cooper, Lawrence English, Blank Realm, Cornel Wilczek, Charlie Parr, Heinz Riegler, Dina Maccabee and Gwenifer Raymond.
Prior to 2013, Tuttle primarily recorded and performed under the moniker Anonymeye.
