Braids of Hell by and per se and published on 2014/01/24 08:06:06 +0000 Unleashing Braids' hidden noise monster! This is an exploration of the uglier side of Braids' physical models, by pitching them down low and modulating them at both audio and LFO rates and processing the output. This demo stitches together several takes from different models: I can't remember the order, but they include PLUK, FLUT, BLOW and BOWD. A combination of A143-4, uLFO, Dixie II and Generator provide modulation for FM, Timbre and Color, with a square wave hitting the Trig in at various speeds. From there, the audio goes three ways: - straight to the mixer - through the Pittsburgh Filter, which has cutoff and Q modulated by various amounts, sometimes at audio rates - into an A160, the /8 out from which goes into a uVCF just below self-oscillation, creating either deep suboctaves or clicks & pings depending upon the input pitch. This all goes into a combination of reverb and a DelayLab in Space Delay mode, which creates the shimmering tails.
