Born and raised in Wisconsin, USA, until the mid 1990s when he moved to Massachusetts to finish high school. Always a musician, Charles played violin for several years in grade school, trumpet and a bit of piano in junior high, and sang bass in high school. In his last years of high school, he began focusing his musical interests in electronic music, and started spinning records just before college in 1997. His style was shaped by mixes released by Renaissance and Global Underground. Since then he has been influenced by Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg, Guy J, Global Communication, Telefon Tel Aviv, Frankie Bones, and Kevin Saunderson.
During college in Worcester, Massachusetts, Charles DJed parties, distributed mixed tapes, and started exploring electronic music production. He was even able to incorporate electronic music into various requirements for a degree while studying Electrical Engineering. Charles completed a review of production sequencer software to fulfill a language and arts requirement, and with two others, he designed, engineered, and built a digital DJ mixer to fulfill a major requirement for his degree. This project was one of a handful nominated for an award in 2001. Charles received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2001.
Immediately following his degree, Charles co-founded Anamorphic Recordings and released 13 original productions under the label, the label was closed in 2008 as family & day job took priority. Charles continued to write on the side whenever possible.
In 2010, he revitalized his passion for music production by completing a Specialist Certificate for Production, Mixing and Mastering in Pro Tools from Berklee College of Music.
Since completing the certificate Charles has spent all available free time in the studio writing new material, as well as mixing and re-mastering old releases and remixing a wide variety of material.
