New York, NY
Somewhere between the realm of reality and ethereal techinicolor fantasies, you’ll find Amanda Haze. Think house music—but on Mars. With trance-inducing lyrics and melodies juxtaposed against electrifying production, the 23-year-old DJ and now producer has performed amongst prominent musicians like Dion Timmer, Serge Devant, Cut Snake, Claptone and many more.
Over the last few years, Amanda has continuously drawn inspiration from various musical meccas, from her time spent in European cities like Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam to her recent residency in Bushwick. In college, she headlined Syracuse University’s silent disco during the school’s sold-out fall festival that featured A$AP Ferg, Playboy Carti, and Loud Luxury. She has since gone on to perform live at esteemed New York venues like House of Yes, Soho Grand Hotel, The VNYL, Make Believe at the Sixty Les, William Vale Hotel Rooftop and The Williamsburg Hotel. In Miami, she’s been spotted spinning at Faena during the 2019 Art Basel Extravaganza—all the while incorporating analog Euro tracks and synthesizer machines. She produces primarily on Ableton Live, using a Roland tr8 drum machine and a Roland tb-303 bass line synthesizer.
At her sets, listeners will often hear her mixing a highly curated repertoire of tracks and even performing several of her own original songs. The end result defies any one genre; it’s a deeply satisfying hybrid of melodic techno, organic downtempo, and deep house, amongst other things. In 2019, Amanda released her signed single “Next Degree,” which she not only produced but performed vocals on.
While music is the primary extension of Amanda’s creative suite, she also has garnered an impressive array of experience with creative direction, styling, graphic design, and marketing. Having worked at The Brooklyn Mirage, First Gen Records, and with various notable fashion brands and publications, the artist has seamlessly implemented her professional experience into her musical process, a process that she has become undeniably and irrevocably obsessed with.
She intends to release her newest single, Dreamer Mode early this year in February 2021. Stay tuned.
