Dedication, discipline, work and research are the characteristics that define Amanda Chang’s artistic personality, characteristics that mark evolution and consistency in her trajectory.
With an intrinsic talent for anyone who seeks artistic and personal development above all, Amanda tries not to limit herself with one musical genre, one strand, a single tribe. Instead, she observes and engages in different sounds; stamping her own identity as she builds a solid path in the musical scene.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Amanda began her career playing house music at Privilége Brasil, a club that hosted her and in which she has been a resident for many years. Currently, she is the resident DJ at D-EDGE club in Sao Paulo.
"I do not like to raise the flag of what is good, house or techno. I transit through sounds because I like them, enjoying each style, breaking sound barriers. If you have a light and an open spirit, you can capitulate the energies and transmit what’s new".
Restless and driven, in June and September of 2017, Amanda Chang spent some time at La Siesta del Fauno Estudio-Laboratorio, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she studied and developed researches in electronic synthesis with the synthetisist Ernesto Romeo; and, as a result, she recently started using analog modular synthesizers in her sets, incorporating the latest and most unusual sounds to them. In November of that same year, motivated by her time spent in La Siesta del Fauno ..., the artist begins and implements, consequently, studies, researches and compositional works in the area of experimental electronic music and electroacoustic music in partnership with the Brazilian composer Paulo Motta: with that she confirms her skills and availability to renew her knowledge by including in her trajectory new perspectives of musical creation. Amanda is someone to watch closely.
