At Night [disquiet0250] by Formant published on 2016-10-16T17:00:44Z This song was created for the Disquiet Junto #250. More on this 250th weekly Disquiet Junto project — “Soothing Sounds for Junto: Make some peaceful music for an infant child” — at: http://disquiet.com/0250/ -- I wanted something mellow on the piano, but ended up using an electronic piano patch from Waves instead. It was called "Good Night", which seemed fitting. A chord progression switching between D minor and A major had also been rumbling about my head, so I decided to expand on that idea. I tried to keep it all pretty simple, aside from writing it in 5/4. Soothing for baby? Hopefully. Genre Electronic Comment by schtean @tactilianrepost: wish I could tell so easily it's 5/4 .... 2016-11-22T04:28:29Z Comment by Formant @tactilianrepost: Thanks for the insightful comment 2016-10-21T21:52:45Z Comment by Formant @337is: Thanks! 2016-10-21T21:52:20Z Comment by Formant @user-651760074: Thanks! 2016-10-21T21:51:54Z Comment by tact mixes Lovely. Usually 5/4 sounds straight away very mechanical and tense to me (not necessarily a bad thing), but here you've made it flow naturally and it fits the vibe of the project quite well, if I may say so. Almost as if the tune/tune-maker is sleepy and can't seem to catch back on that 4th beat, so just goes for the 5th anyway. Awesome track! 2016-10-21T09:08:07Z Comment by Hypoid A lovely piece! 2016-10-18T02:27:08Z Comment by 337is (three three seven is) Tension and resolve.
