Rain song (in memory) by Alicia Ukulele published on 2014/05/14 17:59:07 +0000 This song was inspired by my Grandad, when I was visiting him last summer. We were sat on a bench together at Conishead Priory (Buddhist Monastery), eating icecream on a sunny/drizzly day, & he was humming a tune to me much like this one. I wrote this for him as soon as I got back to Edinburgh. I thought I'd re-upload this track in memory of my wonderful Grandad who sadly passed away very recently. This version also has rain/bird sounds added to it, I thought it would help to capture that moment we had on the bench. I actually wrote/arranged another song, 'The Yellow Rose' (words by John Eagle) for my Grandad, that I performed at his memorial. I will be recording & also uploading this song very soon too (as soon as I'm over my cold). Thanks to William Randal for adding in the field recordings, and thanks to my Mum for the picture. ................................................. Listen to the sound, I'm waiting in the rain. But it won't stop raining, Will you come at all? I'm waiting, I'm waiting, for you, for you. Whistles in the breeze, The birds my company. The sun shines through the trees. Will you come for me?
