drumfish is Aaron Bertoglio, Graham Drew, Larry France, Margie Lang-Garnhart and Alex Petty
From its inception, drumfish has always melded a wide spectrum of musical sounds, cultures and genres. This has led the band to develop a signature, sound, forged in the fires of cross-genre innovation, and rooted by an acoustic modern rock feel. After it's first release, a self-titled debut, drumfish attracted the attention of record labels and toured in venues all across the United States and Canada. As excitement for the band grew, demand for a follow up release grew with it. The band did not disappoint, releasing “Ra’s Zoo” to critical acclaim.
At about this time, due to uncontrollable circumstances, the band was forced to part ways before realizing the it's full potential. With a sense that their was still much work left to do, one year after the official breakup, drumfish recorded their third album, “Under Under Hill”. Not to be out-shined by earlier releases, “Under Under Hill” went on to win a nationwide song writing contest and received strong praise from critics however, was never officially released and remained dormant.
Finally, in early 2009, the band decided it was time to release this long over due work. While the band was preparing for the release Under Under Hill, they began writing new music again. The material the band wrote during this period was fresh and invigorating; drumfish was now writing at a new level and doing its best work ever. More than this, there was an underlying message emerging in the new music, a message carrying a call to action for needed change in the world and filled with images of light and life; drumfish decided to go back into the studio. Collaborating with double-platinum producer Kevin Gutierrez, drumfish released "Memoirs" in 2010, the band's 4th major release. Memoirs went on to receive more then 12 million digital plays world-wide, primarily fueled by distribution deals the band struck with AOL Music and CBS Interactive in 2011.
Now, in 2013, drumfish has done it again and today stands on the verge of releasing its 5th major release, a live concert album titled "Five Live" recorded at the legendary State Theatre in Falls Church Virginia. drumfish is now set to embark on an international campaign for this latest album. Boosted by early positive reviews, the band and it's fans world-wide are bracing in anticipation for what's next.
