AlexMei Alex Mei Vancouver Growing up all over the world, and cutting her party teeth at a young age in the nightlife of Bristol and Madrid, this globe trotter has her finger perpetually on the pulse of the sexy underground. Alex Mei pours her energy and soul into her sets. She is a malleable DJ and takes the listener on an enticing journey in every which direction. She is unpredictable in the best possible way. A skilled pianist, and a composer at heart, Miss Mei was exposed to dance music at the age of 11, and hit the dance floor shaking. Genre’s have no meaning to Alex Mei, so she has labeled her mixing style as the ‘lizard twerk’. Known for her endurance and her ability to continue playing and changing the vibe up for hours on end. From residencies in Kelowna to heading up Blueprint’s Femme Fatal, she has played alongside and collaborated with a really diverse array of artists from Datsik, Perkulat0r, Neon Steve, Addison groove, Featurecast, Dimond Saints, and Tokimonsta to name a few. Alex has taken her sleek bass style all over map, from Costa Rica to Australia and back, headlining our Canadian festivals. She is ready to play to any crowd, on any equipment no matter how janky.
