She fuses her classical music education with the ever-expanding area of music technology to create adventurous, whimsical acousmatic and radiophonic works. She has composed soundtracks for animation, film, short stories, radio, theatre and dance. Her acousmatic and radiophonic works have been broadcast in France and Scotland, and recently featured on 2017 RMN Classical electroacoustic compilation album, Electroacoustic and Beyond II and 2020 New Weird compilation album Isolation (In). Alexis was awarded First Place and People’s Choice Award in the 2016 and 2015 University of Sydney Verge Awards respectively for her acousmatic works, as well as Highly Commended in the 2020 Ars Electronica Forum Wallis Competition. Alexis completed her undergraduate studies in Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium in 2017 with First Class Honours, receiving the Iris Oakley Sutor Award for the most outstanding student of composition, and a place on the 2017 Dean’s List of Excellence. She completed a Master of Music at the Conservatorium in 2020, focusing on the development of an accessible, portable acousmatic practice called Small Diffusion. Alexis is also co-founder of lost+sound, an all-female experimental composers' collective based in Sydney, Australia.
