Your Voice by Alex Groves published on 2018-07-02T12:20:09Z Your Voice for Two Sopranos & Harpsichord 4' Your Voice should feel equally seductive and unnerving with a constant shift between desire and destruction. Written for a recital of siren song, I set out to make a piece which would leave an audience feeling like they could be torn to pieces at any moment but they would enjoy it anyway. The constant, percussive interjections of the harpsichord slicing through the lyrical vocal lines and the unresolved, clipped phrases leaving you never fully satisfied. It was written as part of my year as Composer-in-Residence at Handel & Hendrix in London and premièred there by Gwen Martin, Zoë Brookshaw & Marta López Fernández on Thursday 14th June 2018.
