Alex Carpani is an Italian-French composer, keyboards player and singer. He has collaborated with David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator), David Cross (King Crimson), Bernardo Lanzetti (PFM, Acqua Fragile), Aldo Tagliapietra (Le Orme), Paul Whitehead (Genesis, VdGG, etc.), Tony Spada (Steve Morse, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, etc.), Lino Vairetti (Osanna) among others.
The Alex Carpani Band (ACB) has been formed in fall 2006 to perform live Alex’s debut album Waterline around the world and is now one of the top Italian progressive rock bands of the contemporary scene with an International experience having performed in Italy, Japan, England, Sweden, U.S.A., Lithuania, Norway, Mexico, Denmark, Germany, France, Serbia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic since 2007.
Alex took a graduation in Musicology at the University of Bologna, specialized in music for films at C.E.T. (Centro Europeo di Toscolano), a famous Italian school of music in central Italy, as well as in sound engineering with top Italian sound engineers at the Arte Scenica Foundation in Bologna.
He’s been awarded in several Italian and International composition prizes in the 90s and his repertory ranges from progressive rock to classical music, from electronica to music for films/videos/theatre, electro-jazz, music & poetry, jazz-rock.
