Alex Attias started his Djing career in 1988, Lausanne - Switzerland, playing house, funk and disco classics and anything good for the dance floor!
Throughout the late 80's and early 90's, he established himself as one of Switzerland's top Dj's running his own successful weekly nights in LAusanne ( MAd Club and Dolce Vita )
Being booked to play all over Europe, and booking in return top International Dj's to play in Switzerland. Alex was also long-time collaborator for the music magazine Vibrations, writing and compiling their series of albums.
By 1995, he was ready to break into Electronic music production, contributing a track to the "5 Star Galaxy" compilation in the company of producer Patrick "Rollercone" Duvoisin. The following year he set up the Bel - Air Project, and began attracting attention with their first release "Magik", which was featured on one of the famous Sourcelab compilations. Bel-Air Project's next two releases became minor underground cult classics "Jazz with Altitude" and "Dark Jazzor" were both championed by the likes of 4 Hero, Gilles Peterson and Stacey Pullen.
At the same time, Alex also set up his own record label Corn-Flex with Seb Kohler and was busy collaborating under different guises, with Paul Martin as Beatless and with his Bel-Air colleague as Funkanova.
1997 saw the demise of the Bel-Air Project and Alex moved to England to pursue new musical projects. Mustang and Beatless were the main sources of his creative output (plus a few collaborations: River Plate with his brother Stephane, Plutonia with Dego from 4 Hero , Catalyst with Greg Boraman and Freedom Soundz with his brother Stephane and also Ripperton).
Alex was regularly booked to play @ Plastic People with the broken beats Crew on sundays for the Coop nights @ Notting Hill Arts Club with Phil Asher and Patrick Forge for the Inspiration Information Nights and many other clubs in England and Worldwide touring Japan, USA, Germany, Italy and many other countries.
In 2000, Alex set up his new record label, Visions Inc., for which he's been busy recording with super keyboard whizzkid Jessica Lauren, producing tracks for soul singer Vanessa Freeman, and his own Mustang project with talents like MArk De Clive Lowe, Bembé Segué, Vanessa Freeman, Colonel Red.
At the same time with his Pal Ripperton they released a few edits and reworks under A & R REWORKS, a collection of classics and soulful tunes revisited and released only on vinyl!
The first Beatless album ( with Paul Martin ) "Life Mirrors" was released in October 2001 on the American label Ubiquity, featuring tracks recorded in San Francisco with the Daughters from the 70's band the Sons and Daughters of Lite, with Stones Throw rapper Quasimoto, and the multitalented Colonel Red.
Around the same time, Irma Records from Italy released his "Quiet Moments" compilation, an assortment of chilled and space jazz tracks from the past to unwind to.
A selection of Visions Inc. single releases and exclusives have been released September 2002 on a compilation entitled " THE CHROMATIC UNIVERSE " featuring treats from Dego, I.G. Culture, Plutonia, Vanessa Freeman, Mustang and Domu to name but a few.
Alex has also started with Goya music a serie of Dj cd mixes. the first volume has been completed by the Mustang man himself, and the series will continue with Dego, Bugz in The Attic, IG Culture, Domu and some of the Djs worldwide who are into good music!
A soundtrack has been created by Alex and his crew for the French channel Arte to accompany " Anomalies Passageres ", a film directed by Nadia Fares . shown on TV in march 2003.
November 2004 alex has finally completed his first solo album under the Mustang moniker on Compost records ( Germany)
Back home to Lausanne the same year , Alex kept producing various tunes and remixes under his moniker MUSTANG , some new tunes for his label Visions inc and also experimenting more dancefloor tracks for his new imprint Freedom Soundz records.
iAfter a little break of about 3 years, alex came back into production with a more house orientated production and released various tunes and ep for Rush hour, Planet E, Mule records plus a few remixes for small independent label and did a couple or releases with his friend Ripperton.
During 3 years Alex had a weekly radio show on the Swiss channel couleur 3 and now he in the process of launching a new label, a new night in Club ABC and more music under LILLYGOOD!.
Today in 2013 he is launching his radio show on Audiomatic.net and preparing more remixes and tunes to be released throughout the year.
