Alec Goldwin (also known as Oleg Smirnov) is Los Angeles based composer and music producer, a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammy Awards), whose professional career started over a decade ago in Europe, when he was commissioned to compose and produce for Russian premiere multi-genre instrumental collective EXIT project. Blending orchestral music with jazz, world music with electronic textures, the band quickly received critical acclaim for introducing its own innovative stylistic approach labeled "Art-fusion". Alec produced several albums for the band, and the EXIT project CDs were released on Russian major record labels CD Land and Soyuz Records, as well as pioneered the innovative digital publishing format "3plet". The overall circulation of the CDs featuring the band’s work exceeds 1,000,000 copies.
In addition to the degree with honors from Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he focused on music composition, arranging, and production, Alec's background highlights a Master of Arts in Psychology.
Alec is a member of the Society of Composers and Lyricists, BMI, the Russian Musician Union, as well as a music production expert and judge at the Colisium Music Convention.
A multi-instrumentalist and descendent of the Russian music tradition, Alec Goldwin is a versatile composer, whose work combines stylistic diversity with deep insight, sensitivity, and attention to detail. His music was featured in TV, radio, and theatre productions, media campaigns (Greenpeace, WWF, etc.), was reviewed in major music media (Billboard, InRock, PLAY, etc.), and is available in major digital stores (iTunes, Google Play, Spotify). Alec's work was showcased at 16 national and international music festivals and was performed and recorded by remarkable performing artists. In 2009 Oleg contributed to the album "Orpheus in Exhile" by the British new wave icon Mark Almond, while his 2012 collaboration with jazz and world music artist Kirill Parenchuk led to a multimedia project Son Cherished Most embracing music, visual arts, philosophy, and documentary film. In 2012 the arranging of John Zorn's piece "Meholalot" was welcomed by the the New York avant-garde guru himself.
Among Alec Goldwin's past clienteles are Berklee, Greenpeace, WWF, Museum of Cosmonautics (Moscow), TV Kultura, and some major music libraries.
