A Guy Called Gerald LIVE in Manchester This is not a DJ set - it's a live jam session of A Guy Called Gerald original music NO LOOPS using Reason X 2 incorporating acapellas. Recorded at The Deaf Institute in Manchester at The Red Bull Music Academy. I wanted to prove that you can switch from techno into jungle live using reason... some people like it, some people hate it when I do this.... I started doing Jungle in 1991 - does anyone remember how cheesy techno got in 1991? This is WHY we created Jungle. Techno and house basically sold out... The only reason I came back to doing techno was because there were friends of mine pleading for me to do it...people who enjoyed the stuff I was doing in the late 80s. So if anyone has any kind of beef with anything to do with jungle let me remind you about your 90's times with your dummy in your mouth and your Vicks vapour rub! i saw you perform at Basing House when I was in London for the first time back in April in Shoreditch. classic set, i convinced these two girls to stay because you playing on later in the night. you didn't disappoint "A True Manchester Hero" , thank you for what you do.

fantastic mix showing GCG's versatility and virtuoso skills as it moves from house to acid to jungle. Who cares if some don't like the move to jungle midway, plenty of others do, and are rediscovering it, and the pleasures of not listening or dancing to the same music for hours on end. This is the way forward.
