In September 2007 the Association Française pour l’Essor des Ensembles à Vent (AFEEV) – French association for the development of wind orchestras – was born.
It is the mutation result of the WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) french section, under the 1901 law – without any lucrative aim.
Our goal is to promote the wind orchestras and ensembles repertoire, and gather members affiliated to five colleges (Composers and orchestrators; Performers (conductors, soloists, orchestral musiciens and teachers); Wind orchestras and ensembles; Musicologists; Publishers, manufacturers, storekeepers, etc.). Therein it is a nonsuch association, original in its purpose and representativeness.
The Board of Directors, elected in February 2014, consists in an Executive Council:
Philippe Ferro (president), Philippe Langlet (vice-president), Jérôme Hilaire (treasurer), Patrick Péronnet (secretary)
and a Committee:
Sébastien Billard, Gildas Harnois, Laurent Langard, Thierry Weber, Michel Chebrou, Benoît Barberon, Olivier Calmel, Thierry Deleruyelle, Maxime Aulio.
A Honorary Committee has agreed to support the AFEEV: Maurice André (✝), Roger Boutry, Désiré Dondeyne (✝), Serge Lancen (✝) and Ida Gotkovsky.
