AERØHEAD

Hey! My name is Ian, but you probably know me as AERØHEAD.

I have always been interested in music, but I did not get started in music production until the summer of 2016, between my freshman and sophomore year in college. However, the story starts a bit earlier than that: the fall of 2015. Honestly, I was frustrated with how school was going, and I needed some relief. That is when I discovered chillstep and downtempo. Mixhound and earlier Sheepy were my primary sources, and I loved the experience of listening to a piece of music without an agenda, without a direction. Music that was not about the destination, but rather about the journey.

So, that summer of '16, I decided that I could try to make some of that music. I enjoyed it, and it would be a good way to unwind from the stresses of school. I bought FL Studios, and started teaching myself how to make music. The first couple of months, the music I made was absolute garbage. But I slowly and surely got better (hopefully you agree!). I have tons of room to improve, and I strive to get better with every track I make.

The learning curve for any DAW is fairly brutal, and the motivation that I held was that if I could make one person feel some emotion with my music, then it would all be worth it. I hope I have succeeded.
