15: Mental Health Awareness by accessvfx published on 2019-08-23T11:29:10Z The ACCESS:VFX podcast is here to create a space for important conversation with the aim to open a wider dialogue. At ACCESS:VFX we celebrate and raise awareness of amazing career paths in VFX, animation & games. But with that comes a responsibility to prepare future talent for a client-facing industry, where creative scope can often outstrip resources which can result in demanding hours of work. This potentially could take its toll on stress levels and work/life balance. This is a positive conversation that’s not about criticising any studios; the conversation is bigger than that. With: Harriet Edge-Partington, Talent and Recruitment Manager, Union Visual Effects Jason Edwards, Lead Modeller Framestore Isobel Stenhouse, Production Manager, The Line Animation Andrew Brassington, Head of Strategic Projects, Escape Studios Hosted by Simon Devereux, Founder of ACCESS:VFX @ The Mill Recorded & edited by Tom Box, Non-Exec Director of ACCESS:VFX Genre Learning Comment by DrFire I have been in the VFX industry for about 14 years now, an engineer with a doctorate before that. I have recently come out to the whole company about my problems with depression and made it common knowledge that people can come to talk to me in confidence if they are suffering these things too. This podcast is a very useful production. 2019-08-29T09:05:37Z
