The Drop Episode 5: Will Martin (Firm Tracks) by Studebaker Hawk

Episode 5 comes from Will Martin @will_martin out of Oakland, California.

Will has been collecting records since the tender age of 15 when an early obsession with Jungle/Drum and Bass opened his ears to all variety of danceable music. While throwing underground parties in Boston, Massachusetts, he met and formed a close friendship and musical partnership with fellow Bostonian John Barera. Their first release landed them smack in the center of Steffi’s Panorama Bar mix, with subsequent releases on her Dolly label as well as cult favorites Argot, 2MR, and John Barera’s Supply Records.

After moving to Brooklyn, Will started Firm Tracks, a label dedicated to put out debut releases of new and emerging artists. There he helped launch the careers of beloved midwest fixtures Ali Berger, and Davis Galvin, among others.

Today he lives in beautiful Northern California with his 2 year old daughter, where he splits his time between digging for the best records and the best burritos he can find.
