The music ranges from animated, to tender, dramatic and passionate. The Unheard-of//Ensemble: Ford Fourqurean - clarinet Melanie Riordan - violin Issei Herr - 'cello Han Chen - piano This World Premiere performance of Aaron Alter's "First Time Meeting" was part of Composers Concordance "Generations X" concert on October 16. 2021 at the Bernie Wohl Center in collaboration with Goddard Riverside Community Arts. First Time Meeting has the same instrumentation as Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time," so if you are an ensemble that is playing Messiaen's work, First Time Meeting would be a great addition to the program, either to begin the concert, or as an encore.
