By day, Rob Anderson works as a member of the Pioneer DJ product planning team. A role that not only sees him bridge the gap between Japanese engineers and artists of all genres across Europe, but also sees him responsible for shaping the products that come from the industry standard brand. By night, he’s a label boss, a DJ with over 18 years experience, and a producer with releases on some of the key imprints within the house and techno scene.
Rob cut his teeth in the UK’s capital as a regular DJ on the london circuit. He quickly established his own brand, “YØU.R”. booking the likes of Richy Ahmed, Reset Robot, James Zabiela & many more with him supporting at intimate 300 cap venues. Seeing talent of this size in small venues ensured the party was a resounding success. With 10 sell out events in the locker, and following a printed Mixmag feature tipping YØU.R as one of the top 3 events in the UK, the brand relocated to Ministry Of Sound for a series of parties in 103.
As momentum built, Rob received invites to play across the UK & Europe. Regular appearances followed at the Lost Village and Forbidden Forest festivals, as well as at Sankeys, The Zoo Project and Sonica Radio in Ibiza. However, his time spent in Amsterdam playing at Studio 80, The Getaway DJ Cafe, and the Q-Factory is where he found his true direction.
Defining his sound, he became known for providing tough 4x4 beats alongside twisted vocals, warped synth lines and rolling bass line grooves. Increasing the hours spent in his london studio, he honed his skills and eventually signed his first release to Flashmob Records. The “Pear Shaped” EP received huge support, and topped both the Traxsource and Beatport charts.
Releases followed on Under No Illusion and Twisted Fusion Records inspiring Rob to progress down the natural route of starting a label. With the launch of Repeat After Me Records in 2018, Rob now steps out on his own to musically steer an imprint based on his own unique sound and vision. With a solid team, a release schedule to excite the masses, and the first release, Apoloa EP featuring a remix from Hot Creations Stalwart, Denney, it’s no wonder that Rob’s productions are already receiving support from the some of the industries biggest players.
