9G Records is two years old! Continuing our quest for groundbreaking uniqueness and a certain focus on the musicality of the broad scope of EDM, we present to you our 2 Year Anniversary Compilation MUSIC IS NOT DEAD VOL. 2! With both old and new styles, the compilation brings you a little bit of everything surrounding the artists and sounds that we like.
A little bit horn, a little bit house, Mike Remedy and PJ Produkt, better known as Down2Funk, highlight one of their seminal style tracks Funkin Horny. They collaborate again on Rumba Cubana, this time flavoring the house with some spice that we can all enjoy.
Newcomer Aurora 7, appearing twice on the compilation, smacks his synths and rave stabs, once with PJ Produkt on Robot Will I Dream and by himself with the original (and very bouncy) Shimmyshaker.
Stillwell, an up and coming San Diego based producer, released his Prometheus single earlier in the past year and Dert Cheep winds this already driving tune into a tech mastery of a 2am club dancefloor. Another San Diego highlight is Holy Rollers, better known as DJ Schoeny, with his more electro festival banger BST.
Sweet Thang, by MarkOne, reminds us that no matter what, that driving house sound is just sweet as we remember. And Jazz-e, an amazing DJ, who also is part of Chubby Fingers from the Bay Area, lines up the acid and brings the licks to the rave party.
MANICS remix of Nigel & the Dropout as well as Fiero's slick and suave caressing of the former Classic US' After Dark give you a taste of finer points, each with their Indie and Nu Disco influences. MANICS take nothing away from the fantastic original and add their own swing, and Fiero goes full on 1970s with a touch of his signature Italo.
Stardust, by MVEMNT was the 5th in the series of a short story of videos, only partially realized, concluding in what is most likely the best essence of what an abduction would certainly feel like. And our favorite man Rumevari is reworked into a noisy techno barrage by Mercurius FM.
We're thankful for the continued support by all our DJs, Producers, Friends and Family. You know who you are, and we love you. Onto year #3!
