3 - 23 - 17 1200 Man Fires Shots At Springfield Officers In Stolen Truck - KTTS by KTTS published on 2018-02-14T07:34:59Z At noon on March 23, 2017, KTTS News reported that a man through the back window of a stolen pickup at officers during a traffic stop at Lexington and Chestnut in Springfield. Police say Robert Rost from Springfield took off and abandoned the pickup in an area along the West Bypass, where the SWAT team and a Highway Patrol plane searched for him. He lived just a couple of streets over from where the stolen vehicle was abandoned. KTTS Assistant News Director Nancy Simpson reported from the scene of where the pickup truck was ditched. A witness, Tim Cook, tells KTTS News Director Don Louzader eight shots were fired from the suspect in the vehicle toward the two officers during the traffic stop. Court papers say a female officer was grazed in two areas on her body. Rost was arrested after a pursuit three weeks later.
