5th Spear Philip Blake Cardiff A productive 2014 saw 5th Spear produce and publish over 40 tracks, which filtered into hist first album ‘Year One’ released early in 2015. A mix of lush synths and downtempo beats alongside chiming electronica sparking resemblances to the likes of Flying lotus, Gold panda and Bonobo, with the warm retro-flavoured luminosity of Luke Abott and the spacier end of the Warp Records catalogue. The release of 'Imperfections', saw 5th Spear being featured at noted music events such as Hub and Sŵn Festival, being described as - "forward-thinking head music with a dayglo pop heart.” 5th Spear has successfully continued to headline Cardiff venues throughout 2016, as well as sharing a stage with Brainfeeder’s Lapalux earlier in the year.
