  The compression crushing the drums down sounds nice but it kinda fills up more than its fair share of the mix. Maybe crossfade it with a little of the dry signal to reintroduce some of the original dynamics?

[UPDATED VERSION!] A friend suggested I take a swipe at this Visage classic. It's a favourite eighties track of mine, so I really want to keep the darkish melancholy and do it justice. From the earlier version there's more mastering, structure, volume control and (intentional) glitches.
