I live in Utrecht, The Netherlands. A wonderful old town and an areacode that starts with 030. Which is nearly 303, if you want to. "Zuur" is the Dutch word for acid. It first appeared in the Dutch language around 1265 and finds it origins in the old Slavonic syrü, which means moist. Since the late eighties acid also describes the sound that's produced by Roland's famed TB-303 bassline synthesizer, my favourite instrument.
Funkt als de neten!
So, erm... where's the acid...
Nearly brings a tear to me eye after hearing so many dreadful, 90's thumping, overquantized statutory rape remixes of this tune. Thanks again.
Subtle, that little tweak. It clear you love this track - it's been treated with the respect it deserves! Thanks for the download too, onto my commute list it goes :D
Damn, this is relaxing :) Great bass
@ShaR4: Ooh, I like this track.
Very nice
@Campadrenalin: I didn't mind that 'thumpy' pushiness to be honest, but I will give your suggestions a try later tonight, just to hear what it'd do to the sound!
Very, very nice riff
This sounds a lot like it's from Mammagamma from The Alan Parsons Project (great loop btw!)
@raytrace: I use M-Tron, but there's bound to be tons of samples around. I must hold back not to use it in every track ;)
I agree, a great and restrained update to this track!
@atomicanna: :)
The hi's and the vocals are a bit harsh, they kinda drone out the sweet soft pads in the background. Maybe lower the hi's a bit with some EQ. I like the layering!
Very Indian sounding - almost wish for some sitar droning :)
How many different patterns are we talking about in this track?
Hotdamn wat a nice track! Bought it immediately (yay Shazam recognition)
Great riff 'n vibe
@zuur: D'oh, I didn't notice it in the set view; you've already done so! Never mind. GREAT mix. (all capitals deserved!) ;)
@raytrace: Any chance you could give the ol' download button a nudge? I'd like this on my commute into Amsterdam... :D
@raytrace: That acidy riff is so nice...
Great all these riffs running together. Three combinations?
@moezzig: Thanks :D I made another one a while ago. I use classical since it's more difficult to get right, which helps my Ableton skills!
Very nice layering, this works well together!
@Derek Pitral: Dank voor de complimenten! Ik doe maar wat ik leuk vind :)
Nice mix, but there seems to be a much lower volume at this point? Hmmm...
@The Observer: Hehe, het is mooi kazig. ;) De drums enzo ben ik aan het recyclen in een ander deuntje!
Welkom terug! :D
Nice hi-hattery, monsieur!
@Night Orchestra: Thanks! Glad to hear you like it :)
Superbreak!
Sweet Jesus this is funky :D
@The Observer: They're from a special sample cd with just bongo and conga sounds. Not sampled from a particular track as far I know.
You guys are such a find! Great intelligently made tracks. Whoo!
@Campadrenalin: I haven't touched this track in a while - will give that a try!
Wonderful update to this track!
Very, very atmospheric. One gripe: too short!! :)
Sounds almost like French horns
@Campadrenalin: I tried Renoise before I switched to Ableton. Couldn't get it "in my system" but I regularly go to Renoise.com to see what's up. Glad you like my kind of acid :D
Excellent drumming / drumsounds / drumloops [cross out what's not applicable] That open hihat O_o
