Playing classical piano music combined with producing dutch gabbah tracks. That's how one would describe Sander Houtman aka Zoutman's musical childhood. Inspired by various artists and music his musical creativity went from Hip-hop to IDM to Orchestral music, but it wasn’t until he started visiting underground techno parties in Amsterdam that he really fell in love with electronic music. After finishing his Sound Design study at the HKU Art Academy, he started working on filmsound and music, but always spent his spare time on producing techno/tech house tracks.
Zoutman started releasing his tracks in 2008 on labels like 'Dataworx' and 'LCMTC', but also on dutch labels like ‘Strom Recordings’ and ‘Manual Music’. His sound is mostly described as 'different' with big build-ups and hints of his sound design skills. His sound is loved by many because of the ongoing melodic vibe.
After dj-ing for 2 years and performing in front of all kinds of audiences in Amsterdam to Riga and Casablanca, he decided to build a Liveset. Mid 2011 will be the start of ‘Zoutman Live’.
