Having first started DJing in 2010, Scott Martens AKA S-Mart has now fully immersed himself into the complexities of electronic dance music and the culture which surrounds it. Rooted in Toronto’s vibrant and diverse scene, he quickly honed his skills and released his first mixtape in May 2011, "Bass Face From Space", which was featured on Dubstep Toronto's weekly local artist chart: the Filth of the Week alongside submissions from Bassmentality regulars Riggadale and DJ Frantic.

Since then he’s dove head-first into Toronto’s fertile underground, teaming up first with Brain Trust Entertainment to support such local acts as Stephen Walking, Gooffee, and Friendly Intentions at various local venues inclusing Nocturne Nightclub, Detour, The Dance Cave, Augusta House, and 751 Lounge, the birthplace of Toronto’s world-famous bass-music party, Bassmentality.

Throughout the latter half of 2012, he would partner with Toronto-based production-duo KillMachine as a resident at their monthly event, Heavy Petting. Since then the trio have continued to collaborate and support one another, a partnership which culminated at the beginning of 2013 as they announced the formation of a new bass-music project, Ultraviolet, and a independent label and promotion company, Heresy Records.

Known for never being content with a single style, S-Mart is known to switch genres on a whim, dabbling in everything from House, to Drum & Bass, and even the occasional Heavy Metal track from time to time. He is constantly pushing boundaries, diving into uncharted territory, and bringing the heaviest and most diverse routines to whatever dance floor may be at his mercy.
