To the delight of fans, a long silence is about to be broken by Toronto psych-tronic outfit, Madrid. After the 2004 release of their critically acclaimed debut 'Warm Waters', the collaborative duo of Duncan Christie and Adam Perry are ready to release their sophomore effort, 'Original Message' on YYZ Records.
Madrid's heady electro-pop is indicative of a band that straddles the line between the dance-floor and the chill-out room.
Original Message - the upbeat and electro-pop filled older brother to the debut, combines elements of trance, psychedelia, and electronica to create a sound that instills warmth in both the hearts and minds of its listeners. The range of sounds and influences here is vast, spanning from the likes of past greats such as Jesus and Mary Chain and Spiritualized to contemporaries such as Royksopp and M83.
