Ylem is a musician who creates as part of the music/art collective The Community, which has contributed to underground culture in Perth by providing a platform for artists. His music pushes the envelope and reflects his taste for the emerging future beat sub-genres.

Ylem's sound is a continuous exploration of synthesizers, recording, sampling, re-sampling and real world sounds spliced and twisted into harmonies and grooves that creates a space inviting listeners to submerge themselves into. After time spent in bands and djing in clubs, Ylem is now steadily focused on taking his production to the stage.

In 2012, Ylem was nominated for ‘Electronic Producer Of The Year’ in the West Australian Music Industry Awards and took out the ‘Song of the Year’ in the Electronic/Dance category for his track, ‘Slew’. This recognition, coupling with regular airplay on Triple J and local/interstate radio, shows Ylem’s production is starting to get the attention of the discerning ear

Occasionally, he lends a hand with mixdown/mastering duties for his Community comrades, presents Bass Check on RTRFM 92.1, puts on an event, makes music for film/ads or releases other peoples music on his imprint, WattHz Records.
