The track was provided for German choreographers Thomas Plischke & Kattrin Deufert's dance piece, the first version of "InExhaustible (2003)," based on a scene from Ridley Scott film "Hannibal," adapted from Thomas Harris novel of the same name, in which Lecter cuts out part of Klendler's brain. It was the choreographer's idea to make this slow Aria. The dance piece played with a misconception of Antonin Artaud's concept of "theater of cruelty."

the fragility of this is heartbreakingly beautiful. this is wonderful. what are you playing this on? a toy piano? gorgeous.

This is the most beautiful and interesting take on this aria that I have heard in a long long long time.

@Wilhelm Matthies: thanks for the comment. this actually has nothing to do with japanese traditional stuff... this was originally for a dance performance, and the choreographer wanted something haunting and the bach's piece altered. since when this track entered an old 8mm film was screened, it has more to do with "what has been" in roland barthes's term.

love it ! so much digital f*ckery doesn't create more time and more space, it usually contracts and runs away from THIS moment. this gets closer to it.
